About the event

Can you believe it? It has actually been almost 10 years since the Accessibility Club last visited its birthplace, Nuremberg! 😯

Back then, Karl Groves was our guest and attracted a few dozen participants, including a class of students. Since then, the Accessibility Club has visited many new places, including Berlin, Munich, Würzburg, and Amsterdam. Now, it is finally time for the club to return “home”.

In October 2026, we warmly invite you to join us in the tollwerkstatt in Nuremberg once again to co-create an informal meetup focused on digital accessibility and assistive technologies.

The teams from tollwerk and mindscreen will be there — and hopefully a great number of enthusiasts from the region and beyond. We look forward to seeing you!

Do you have an idea for a session?

Stefan Farnetani has just been working intensively on the soon-to-be-released version of EN 301 549 and has offered to report to us on the differences from the current version — which we think is great. However, we would also have time for a second session of 30–45 minutes. Would you be interested in giving a little presentation or hosting a session? If so, please get in touch with us!

We are very delighted to invite you to the tollwerkstatt, located within the tollwerk office spaces, just as we did 10 years ago. Unfortunately, due to structural reasons, the rooms are not wheelchair accessible, which we deeply regret. However, we will provide the option to attend at least the presented sessions online via Zoom (the Zoom address will be sent to all ticket holders shortly before the meetup).

The tollwerkstatt is easily accessible by public transport. To get there, take the U-Bahn U2 from Nuremberg Central Station (Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof) towards Flughafen / Ziegelstein and get off at the Nordostbahnhof stop. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk in the direction of travel. If you plan to arrive by car, there is plenty of parking available along the street in front of the building.

Tickets

As always, we’re committed to keeping barriers to participation in our events as low as possible. That’s why we're excited to offer this Nuremberg meet-up free of charge. However, if you are able to donate a small amount, you will help us to make this or future Accessibility Club events even better.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will certainly provide drinks and, if possible, also snacks for the evening (updates to follow). It would be a real shame if we had to throw away perfectly good refreshments because people registered but didn’t attend. If you know you won’t be able to make it, please cancel your registration in good time so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!
